He is one of the first karate masters in the country, and over the years, he has represented the Kyokushinkai style and Jamaica throughout the world. In 1976, he led the Jamaica full-contact fighting team. In 1976, Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura to teach karate in New York City. He moved to NY, where he worked and lived for several years. In 1990, Soke James moved to Miami, Florida, and ran and taught his own Seido karate branch for many years. In 2000, he decided it’s time to expand his teachings and include pressure point tactics, grappling, and police tactics. The training professionals that joined him in his martial arts school learned a lot from him, and they continue to do that to this day.
